12.3.1 Waste tracking
Waste Tracking at Bukhara State Medical Institute (2025)
In 2024, Bukhara State Medical Institute measured the total amount of waste generated across its main campus, university clinic, and student dormitories. The results are as follows:
• Total waste generated: 118.5 tons
• Recycled waste: 43.7 tons
• Percentage recycled: 36.9%
The measurement covered the entire university, including academic buildings, administrative offices, laboratories, and student residences. Waste collection and recycling were carried out in cooperation with the regional municipal waste management company.
This monitoring system ensures that the university tracks its environmental footprint and improves sustainable waste management practices year by year.
12.3.2 Indicator: Proportion of waste recycled
In 2023, Bukhara State Medical Institute generated a total of 112.0 tons of waste. Of this amount, 39.5 tons (35.3%) were recycled, while 72.5 tons (64.7%) were sent to landfill. This monitoring reflects the university’s commitment to improving sustainable waste management practices.
